Don-David Lusterman

Dr. Don-David Lusterman is a
licensed psychologist and a nationally certified provider of psychological
services, specializing in infidelity, couples, and family therapy.
He is in
private practice in Baldwin, Long Island, New York.
Education: He earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology
and M.A. in Psychology from Yeshiva
University and M.S. Ed. in Guidance and Counseling from
Hofstra University. His broad education extends to music, with
Masters and Bachelors degrees from the University of Michigan.

Credentials:
Dr. Lusterman is a Fellow,
Clinical Member, and Approved Supervisor of the American Association for
Marriage and Family Therapy; a Charter Member of the American Family
Therapy Academy; a Diplomate in Family Therapy of the American Board of
Professional Psychology; a Diplomate in Marital and Family Therapy
and in Marital and Sex Therapy of American Board of Family
Psychology; a Fellow of the American Psychological Association's Divisions
of Family Psychology, Independent Practice, Media Psychology,
Psychotherapy, and Society for
the Study of Men and Masculinity; and a Fellow of the Academy of
Psychologists in Marriage, Sex and Family Therapy. He
has been the Executive
Director of the American Board of Family Psychology and served on
the Boards of the American
Family Therapy Academy and the Family Division of the American
Psychological Association.
Awards:
Dr. Lusterman was honored by the American Psychological Association's
Family Division as "Family Psychologist of the Year" in 1987,
Presidential Commendation in 1994, and Distinguished Service Award in
1998. He was named "Family Therapist of the Year" in 1996
by the Long Island Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. The
Shiluv Institute of Family and Couple Therapy gave him the Jerusalem
Family Benefactor Award for over 25 years of service as a consultant.
Clinical
Experience: In addition to being in private practice for
almost 30 years, Dr. Lusterman worked in hospital and clinic
settings. He has forensic experience, testifying in custody
and murder cases.
Faculty
Appointments: He is Adjunct Clinical Supervisor at the Ferkauf
Graduate School of Psychology of Yeshiva University and has been Assistant
Professor, Adjunct Associate Professor, and Director of a counseling
psychology program at Hofstra University.

and Presentations: Dr. Lusterman is an author of the following
books: Infidelity: A Survival Guide, Bridging
Separate Gender Worlds: Why Men and Women Clash and How Therapists Can
Bring Them Together, Integrating
Family Therapy : Handbook of Family Psychology and Systems Theory, and
Casebook for Integrating Family Therapy: An Ecosystemic Approach.
He
wrote numerous chapters in other books and articles in national and
international journals. He has served on the Editorial Boards
of the Journal of Family Psychology and the American Journal of Family
Therapy.
He participated in the American Psychological Association's Psychotherapy
Videtoape Series: "Couples
Therapy for Discovered Marital Infidelity."
In addition to
having conducted nearly 100 presentations for national and international professional
associations, he contributes to the community by presenting programs for schools and
groups.

programs such as "Today," "Oprah," and "The
Early Show" and New York programs such as "Good Day New
